I. APPOINTMENTS

Bishop John TONG has made the following appointments :

Rev. Dominic CHAN Chi-ming, VG, in addition to his various offices, is to be Parochial Administrator of St. James’ Parish, Yau Tong, Kowloon, during the vacation leave (26 July – 26 September 2010) of Rev. Pierre DEVOS, CICM, PP.

Rev. John WOTHERSPOON, OMI, is to take up prison ministry and the ministry to the socially marginalized.? He will be residing at the rectory of St. Paul’s Parish, Yaumati, Kowloon.

II. SPECIAL MASS TO PRAY FOR PRIESTLY VOCATIONS AND TO VENERATE ST. JOHN MARY VIANNEY

In order to enhance the zeal of the faithful to foster priestly vocations in the “Year of Priestly Vocations” currently celebrated by our diocese, and to encourage priests to imitate their Patron, St. John Mary Vianney, Bishop John TONG has granted permission for parishes to celebrate one Mass on 8 August (Sunday) in honour of St. Vianney and with the special intention of praying for priestly vocations.? The Diocesan Liturgy Commission will provide the liturgical text of this special Mass.
